Hi Can understand your concern. As per your query about pain and swelling at base of head with associated headache seems to be a muscular pain. You may have got streched it while doing any exercise or while sleeping in a wrong position.Due to it muscle got sprained and inflammed.I advice you to take analgesic like aceclo MR twice a day and topical application of pain killer gel like volitra. If no relief is found and swelling persists you need to consult a physician for proper evaluation and treatment.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
