Is Flying Safe While Suffering From A Hematoma On The Neck?
Hi , I woke up yesterday with a hematoma on the left side of my neck. Today I have a swollen gland same side. I do have arthritis in my neck and carotid artery has been occluded on the left side due to a ceberal aneurysm occluded with 3 balloons behind my left eye. I am a flight attendant and have a hectic schedule so I do take a lot of alleve , aspirin, and excedrin. Am I okay to fly in the morning?
The medicines which you are taking are Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and a migraine prophylactic drug.
They should not make a difference to your flying. With respect to the hematoma, were you told that it was a hematoma?
It could just be swollen lymph nodes. In which case, there is nothing to worry about in any case. However, you could get it checked out if it persists.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
