Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I most likely had a virus May 10th causing laryngitis and left otitis media. I have resulting fluid in left ear and the plan is to have a myringotomy 6/7. I went to urgent care today and dr there told me that the fluid should naturally be absorbed in 6 weeks and not to have the procedure. Your thoughts? Also if I do have it I have plans to fly on 6/17 and want to know if ok to fly?

Is Flying Safe While Suffering From Laryngitis?
Hi, You can fly safely. You can swallow small sips of water during flight to avoid Eustachian tube blockage. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
