If your partner has genital herpes but no sign of flare ups or sores, and I use a condom like always, my question is what are the chances I might get infected if my testical area touches her genital area although she has no flare ups or sores at that time?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Most often genital ulceration in female not seen outside as in case of male counter part due to their anatomy and inner organs not seen outside. The girl herself might not be aware of these lesion. Only with a pelvic examination will reveal the lesions. Viral shedding in case of Genital Herpes may persist for few days after healing of these lesions. But condom offers a high degree of protection against STD. Infection over scrotal area is a remote possibility with safe sex. Dr S.Murugan
