Is Getting Fever Normal After A Motorcycle Accident?
My husband was in a boric m motorcycle accident today and is now running a low grade fever. He has some road rash and some cuts and scrapes. He s really sore and can t move much of his upper body. He did have some scans and x-rays which were normal and he was released. Is the fever normal for this type of accident? Thanks
Sometimes the. body respond to trauma in the form of fever. But what my concern is any of his wound getting infected. I would recommend a complete blood picture to rule out any infection. If the WBC count is elevated then go for blood culture and a course of antibiotics accordingly. In the meantime for the pain and fever take tab.ibuprofen three times daily for three days. Warm baths may also help relaxing the muscle stiffness.
Please contact ER if the fever becomes high grade or intensity of the pain increases or in case of any swelling or discharge from the wound. I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing your husband good health
