I would recommend a complete blood picture to rule out any infection. If the WBC count is elevated then go for blood culture and a course of antibiotics accordingly. In the meantime for the pain and fever take tab.ibuprofen three times daily for three days. Warm baths may also help relaxing the muscle stiffness. Please contact ER if the fever becomes high grade or intensity of the pain increases or in case of any swelling or discharge from the wound. I hope this answers your query.
