Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I m a 46 year old female who was incorrectly prescribed Epillim by my GP. A recent psychiatric review recommended that treatment be ceased. I have just stopped taking it and am feeling head spins when I move, groggy and like I have to concentrate when walking. I have been taking 200mg morning and night and this is my 3rd day without. Can you advise if this is normal and how long before they cease? Thank you in advance.
From the available description it appears that you are going through withdrawal effect of Epillim. They generally occur when you stop the medicine abruptly and likely to continue for one week or maximum two weeks. It can be said that in your case it is normal (as you stopped it abruptly). Having said this there may be other condition which was unmasked after discontinuation of epillim. So to be in safer side it is always better to see your doctor if these symptoms are persist for longer time or cayuse disabling symptoms.
'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help". Thanks
