Is Giving Phexin Along With Recofast And Oletek Safe For Hearing Loss?

Hi, My son had some minor hearing problem and was always asking to speak loud as he cannot hear for past 2-3 days. I showed him to ENT suspecting that he may have got wax in his ears due to cold, which he usually gets on season change. However, ENT when diagnosed, told me that my kid has hearing loss and recommended Phexin Syrup, Recofast Plus syrups, Oletek AC for ear and Nasivision Pediatric drops for nose to be given to my kid twice a day. He also recommended me to get X-ray STN Lat for adenoids done. Please suggest are these something to worried upon and can lead to permanent damage. ENT specialist I have been visiting is not explaining me the same clearly. Should I go for second opinion?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have significant hearing loss which could be due to many reasons but it seems to me that the symptoms occur probably due to punctured ear drum, accumulation of wax and severe infection in your ear. It could be sensorineural hearing loss and acoustic neuroma condition. Need not to worry. Phexin along with Recofast and Olenek is safe to use. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination. Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan and examine ear with otoscope. You should avoid touching and pricking it with sharp object. Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics at least or 10 days along with anti inflammatory , anti allergic and analgesic . Doctor may also recommend you patching of eardrum , tympanoplasty or hearing aid .
