Is Giving Solid Food Advisable Instead Of Formula Milk To An Infant?

My son is 9 months and he is currently drinking soy formula milk. I was wondering if I could take him off of of formula. He east well and is actually overweight. Not too much so that his doctor worries, but enough for her to know he is a healthy baby. He also eats lot sof solid foods.

Hello,

I would recommend you to continue giving some milk to the child. Up to one year of age, milk is quite important. In her case, I would give solid food as she desires (please be aware that some solid food need to be avoided in children under one year of age and some should be avoided up to two years of age (fish, nuts, honey, etc).

So, you can give her solid food at least 2-3 meals a day and she may get milk as one meal and before she goes to bed.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
