Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you with thanks for a consult!

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to the latest medical guidelines.

Glandular fever is a different disease and hepatitis is different.

Glandular fever is also known as the Kissing Disease. So yes it easily spreads with kissing. coughing and sneezing. The Epstein Bar Virus causing the disease resides in the saliva of the patient.

It is very dangerous for the babies as they have little immunity to fight against the diseases.

Your partner should not share towel, tooth brush and the toothpaste, towels and other utensils commonly used at home which can get a direct contact of the human secretions. No kissing at all.

Symptoms to keep a check on:
High fever.
swelling of the neck glands.
extreme fatigue.
severe sore throat.
Babies leave feeding, have less frequent urination or have deranged bowel habits (don't wet the diaper frequently). So keep an eye on these indicators.

Hepatitis is of different types. I think your partner have got the infection of the liver as a secondary complication of the same disease "the Infectious mononucleosis" i.e the glandular fever. There are other viruses too that may cause liver damage.
