Is Green Black Stool Post Water Assisted Liposuction A Cause For Concern?

Hi Doctor I did water assisted liposuction a couple of day before and today I see green-black stool with no mucous effect. Should i be worry? i am consuming Fefol one/day however i have had it before and it did not change the stool so much like now. Thank you Naghmeh

No it is not a cause of concern for you to have this issue. It takes time for post surgical stress to get back to normal.

Keep taking the medications prescribed to you for now. You will see improvement in days.

Keep an eye on consistency and frequency of stools. It should not go to either extreme ( Diarrhea/Constipation). If you feel anyone of them, start an immediate treatment for the same. If constipation starts take Lactulose syrup and in case of diarrhea you may need an antibiotic like Rifaximin and Oral Rehydration Solution to revitalize your body.

In case of any serious illness please consult back to your surgeon or Gastroentrologist.
