Is Green Stool With Algea Mucus During Pregnancy A Concern?

Hi.. I m 10 weeks pregnant and went to the bathroom today and noticed green stool with algae-looking mucus around it? The only thing I ve been able to eat for the last 3 weeks is vanilla yogurt, Colby jack cheese, apple cinnamon rice cakes and wow butter (a soy replacement for peanut butter). This is the first I ve seen this kind of stool and I m worried for mine and my babies health..

Hi,

There is nothing to worry about, it is probably caused by the kind of food you are eating, and to be sure you can do a stool analysis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
