Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I usually run 30 miles per week. recently I have been experiencing pain in my groin muscle--almost like a strain. My thighs seem to be knotting up as well...could the groin (abductor muscle) be affected by the tight quads? Is there a something missing from my diet? I have been running for 35+ years and have never had this problem.
By excess running or in unaccustomed position muscular strain can occur. For that, hot compress can be applied. Ibuprofen drug twice a day for five days can be prescribed for that.
If no improvement, then local part examination and USG needs to be done. Consult the physician for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
