Is Having High Fever At Night, Vomiting And Diarrhea Indicative Of The Flu?
Hello, My son is 6 years old and his symptoms began last Sunday. Runny nose, fever of up to 104.5 at night, for the past few days though it s been 103 and under at night and during the day no or very low fever. Between Wed and Thurs he threw up 4 times and had diarrhea. He s eating and drinking fine, crying tears so not dehydrated, I ve also been giving him Pedialyte to keep him hydrated. He s not lethargic, symptoms seem to be improving but he has a fever again now of 102. Do you think it s the flu?
Hello, Welcome to hcm Your son symptoms suggest he could possibly be having viral gastroenteritis. Give him electrolyte powder, along with antacid and paracetamol for fever.keep him well hydrated.monitor his urine output.if the symptoms doesn't subside then visit your doctor he may need a course of antibiotics for the secondary bacterial infection.
Thank you, Take care
