Is Headache Caused After Minor Trauma A Matter Of Concern?

Hi
My daughter hit heads with another child yesterday at school, she cried, came home and has complained of a headache and this morning said she has a headache, I gave her Calpol! She has no bump or bruise on the forehead, is it anything to worry about? She's 9 years old.

Hello. Thank you for your question. Headache after getting hit in the head is expected and may last for several days. Things to look for are loss of consciousness at the time of the trauma, which did not happen, and vomiting within the first 24 hours after the trauma. As long as these two things did not happen, she is safe.
