Is Hepatitis-C Contagious?

I work for an Orthodontist. One of my co-workers has just been diagnosed with active Hep C. Should I be vaccinated for Hep C ? Can I or other co workers contract the disease by working together ? I read it was only by blood transfusion, sex, toothbrush sharing, razor sharing, and needle pricks or sharing. Please confirm this information. Thank you.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Hepatitis C is not contagious & it spreads only by blood transfusion, sex, toothbrush sharing, razor sharing, and needle pricks or needle sharing as you read. So you or other co workers cannot contract the disease by working together.
There is no vaccination available to prevent hepatitis c. But there are several vaccine in process of development.
As you work for a orthodontist you should be careful to prevent instruments used previously in patients to contaminate yourself. This prevention is necessary, usage of barrier technique by wearing gloves is must.
