Is Herpes Possible Although Herpes Test Shows Negative Results?
My brother had one blood test with Herpes simplex Igm diagnosed to be negative, but herpes type 1 was diagnosed to be positive with an index 8. Before that he did a test on his tongue and it was negative for herpes. Are these results final , or is there any chance that he is not infected with herpes because he was taking so many medications and antibiotics at the testing time. The problem is his tongue and mouth was affected by burning due to hot beverage and it get infected that s why he did the test, and his mouth was almost bleeding. Doctors saw his tongue and told him it can t be herpes and as I mentioned a test on his mouth showed negative results. Can this upnormal conditions in his mouth and blood result in misleading results? Do you recommend him to take it again ?
Positive blood test for herpes is generally accurate.Herpes Igm positivity refers to an acute infection. Hence treatment is essential. You can repeat the test to confirm diagnosis.
