Is Hiatal Hernia Diagnosis Possible With CT Oral Contrast Procedure?

Hi. I just had a CT oral contrast but won t know results for another ten days when I see gastrologist. Would that test show hiatal hernia if I have one? I think primary doctor thought perhaps bile duct obstruction or such with nausea as main symptom and occasional pain under breast. I had gall bladder removed over a year ago.

Yes that CT with oral contrast will show if there is any hiatal hernia or any gut obstruction, it will also show if there is any outgrowth, diverticulum, or any polyp. I would suggest you not to panic and wait for your results without getting overly anxious, i would also suggest you to use simple diet till then and stay physically active.
