Is High Creatinine Level Of 6.8 While Being Diabetic Concerning?

My Dad has just been diagnosed with high creatinine level, he has been suffering from Diabetes for the past 18 years. The Diabetes is in control now but the creatinine level is 6.8, which seems very high. We are really concerned. We are based out of India. Kindly help. Any opinion would be highly appreciated.

Yes it is a matter of concerns. In diabetic patient serum creatinine can be increased due to kidney disease. I will advise you to visit a doctor for evaluation.
