Is High Liver Function Test Concerning While Having Orbital NHLymphoma?
Hello I am Helen I was diagnosised with reoccurring NHLymphoma after 20 yr remission. Now have orbital NHLymphoma I am on Rutusin and Treanda for 6 months and 12 months. My last treatment is in 4 weeks. I have now been told I have high liver function test results. should I also be over concerned about this new news?
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.
High liver function test i am taking as high transaminase levels. Hoigh transaminase levels has many cause like Hepatitis B, C, Metabolic disorders, NAFLD, alcohol intake etc. So I will suggest you to visit a Hepatologist for evaluation who will advise tests and then manage accordingly. Meanwhile there are few medicines which I found very useful in my patients are ursodeoxycholic acid and vitamin E. Do regular exercise and reduce your weight if you are overweight, avoid alcohol if you drink.
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health
