Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Planning to have a right hip replacement surgery in January at Bone& Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge LA. Would like more info of the pros & cons and the overall success of the surgery. I am 65 years old and in good health. Please send me a good web address that could show me the surgery process and your professional opinion? Would like a 2nd opinion. Appreciate your professional comments. Thank you so much, Zoltan
I am an anesthesia doctor. I give anesthesia to hip surgery also. As far as I know, I have seen patients getting the hip surgery done and all is going very well with them.
If you have added problems like diabetes, Blood Pressure (BP), COPD or heart problems or anything to interfere with anesthesia, then the outcome of surgery becomes unpredictable. So, we usually do the pre-anesthetic checkup with a detailed history.
Since there is no other history regarding this, I think you are the straightforward case for hip replacement and will get through it better and I do not know websites about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
