Is Hip Surgery Safe For A Smoker With Hypertension?

Am 63 and Having hip surgery in four day, been smoking three cigarettes a day for the last month and a toothpick( sometimes one or two cigarettes a day),am a smoker ten a day...( is that so bad ?) health is good i have high blood pressure take Nifedipine 30mg and Zetia 10mg a day,what s could the outcome the outcome of the surgery?.

Yes, it is safe however, there is higher risk of some anestehsiological complications so you should discuss it with anestesiologist or surgery can be done under spinal anashesia. But generally, this is not an contraindication for surgery and you should not worry.
