hi I have been taking minocycline for 3 weeks now and I break into hives when I scratch my arms and am itch on hands and feet this is my 3 day with hives but I still taking minocycline cause its working and my question is should I stop taking them or if I keep taking them my body can become immune or used to and I the itching and hives will stop??
Hi! I appreciate your concern. Minocycline is known to cause hives (allergic in nature) this could to be due to phototoxicity i.e., upon exposure to sunlight the hives appear on the exposed parts of the body or it can be otherwise due to the chemical nature of this antibiotic. the itching and hives can be controlled by using Cetrizine tablets once daily during the course of the antibiotic therapy.
Regards!
