Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a triple negative breast cancer survivor. Diagnosed at 37. Started oral contraceptives at 15. BRCA1/2 negative. My 16 year old daughter would like to start hormones for period relief. What are the risks for her? Is there a version that is safer than another? Thank you.
Hello dear. Welcome to' Ask a Doctor '. I went through the query and understand your concern.
I think your daughter is not at risk because BRCA1 and BRCA2 are negative . Also a triple negative type means that it is not hormone dependent type of cancer.
She is not at risk so can take whatever type. Anyway her doctor can recommend one with the lowest dose.
Take care.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions contact me again. Best regards. Dr.Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
