General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some patients with thyroid issues do have a tendency to gain weight. Coming back into shape may take time. Continue to take the thyroid medications as prescribed. Take small meals 3-4 times a day. Control the portions of your intake. Cut on sugars & carbohydrates, avoid refined flour and trans fat. Exercise regularly and keep yourself active & well hydrated.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
