Hi my name is delilah I am 35 years old I have been Experiencing heavy bleeding for the past year I get my menstrual 2 a month I get bad pain I cry I have anemia I came back with abnormal paps I went to a gynocologist and he wanted to put me on birth Control I said no cuz I gain lots of weight.i spoke to my primary and he said if I wanna get a hyptarectamy done I said yes I have 5 kids and I m tired of this feeling the gynocolgist said no my primary got angry and send me for a different opinion. What can u tell me
Hello Delilah, thanks for your query. I tend to relate with you and the excessive bleeding you've been having. Menorrhagia is caused by a lot of medical conditions and those are the things your primary and your Obgyn should look out for. Hysterectomy may be the best option of treatment for you if you no longer want to have kids. They may also consider an intrauterine device. It's possible it's as a result of dysfunctional uterine bleeding but I'm of the opinion that more investigations should be carried out to determine the cause of the bleeding. Meanwhile, to prevent anemia as a result of the bleeding, you will have to take blood building supplements. I hope this helps you.
