Is Iatrogenic Catamenial Epilepsy Post Menopause A Common Thing?

Hello. How common is iatrogenic, catamenial epilepsy in postmenopausal women that have been on HRT (estrogen only) for several decades. Also, this patient also has a meningioma over her left parietal cortex and right sided paresis and possible seizures.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Epilepsy probably is due to meningioma and no due to menopause. Consult a neurosurgeon and get evaluated. If operable better it removes a tumour.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
