Is Ignoring Chest Pain Caused Due To Blockage In Circumflex Artery Harmful?

Hi, My husband had 100% blockage in Circumflex Artery. He had chest pains 2-days before and didn t go in because it started up again. He drove himself into emergency room (as I was out of town), and they performed surgery through the wrist and put a stent in.If my husband would have waited and not gone in, how long would he have survived?

Hello,

Your husband took timely step in going to the emergency room. Significant circumflex artery blockade can result in severe myocardial infarction and death. As it was a total occlusion, he wouldn't have survived long not more than 2 days with untreated 100% circumflex artery blockade.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
