Is Implanon And Thyroid Causing Breathlessness And Apnea?
Hi I have been hypothyroid for 6 years and have not had a normal tsh level in all this time and I am taking a amount of thyroxine of 500mcg a day. I also have had the implanon implant and over the past 2 years I have gained 4 stones and have breathlessness and apnea.
Regarding your question Implanon doesn't cause shortness of breath or apnea, yes Thyroxin can cause shortness of breath indirectly by increasing heart rate. I would also recommend you to do a chest X-ray and Echocardiography for evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
