Is Inability To Write And Connect The Alphabets At The Age Of 4 A Cause For Concern?

Hi my son is four and he is having trouble writing and associating his abc song with the actual letter. Every night I make him practice writing letters and then try to teach him what letter A looks like as well as the rest of the alphabet. Is there a easier, simpler way to teach him this? I don t want him to view this as punishment for something He has done. thank you

I went through your details. The best method to teach a 4 year young child is to keep him teaching again and again. His brain is in the beginning stages of growth and repetition can only help this. You don't need to punish. but you should appreciate your child every now and then, even for small and insignificant achievement. Such an appreciation bolsters your son's confidence and he will perform better. You may watch for another 3 to 4 months. if this is not working, consult a child psychologist for an assessment of learning disability.
