If the fluid levels become too low, baby can come in contact with uterine wall leading to attempt at breathing and intrauterine fetal death. Cord around neck can asphyxiate the baby during delivery. your doctor has given your wife arginine to improve baby s weight and amniotic fluid, but this is empirical, as it may or may not work. If baby s weight in USG is normal for gestational age you can go for elective cesarean section delivery in interest of both mother and baby. regards and best wishes.
