Will Drinking Cranberry Juice Help To Increase Amiotic Fluid?
I am 25 weeks along and I have extremely low amniotic fluid. On June 21st my amniotic fluid levels measured at 2.4. I am on bed rest and drinking 85 oz of water a day. I was wondering if drinking cranberry juice will help to increase the amniotic fluid?
Hello! I read your query very carefully and I understand your problem. All you can do is what you have been done so far, staying well hydrated, eating healthy and resting. There is no evidence that cranberry juice is better than other fluids for increasing amniotic fluid volume. If you like cranberry juice you can have it. Remember: coffee, soda (even diet sodas), tea and juices are not good substitutes for water. You can add lemon, lime and unsweetened cranberry juice to your water. By staying very well hydrated there will be an increase in the amniotic fluid volume. I would suggest you to not worry; your doctor and midwife will monitor and take good care of you and your baby. I hope I answered your question. I wish you a healthy pregnancy and enjoy it! Best regards!
