Is Increase Of Pleural Effusion After Experiencing Pain In The Right Chest A Problem?
Hi, My husband was felt pain in his right chest in Apr 2018. Examined by Pulmology deptt X-Ray showed pleural effusion in right lungs. pleural effusion drained by clinically. Started treatment for TB from 15 May to date. Review on july X-Ray shows improvement. But Review on August its shows some spots and increase of pleural effusion. Suggested CT Thorx report as under :- 1. 24(AP) x 30(TR) x 32(CC) mm subpleural soft tissue dense enhancing lesions as described. 2. Nodular foci right middle lobe as described. 3. Right pleural effusions. 4. Mediastinal lymphnodes. Appearance suspicious for mitotic right lower lobe etiology; A FNAC correlation is suggested. Kindly advise.
In tuberculosis after draining the fluid sent for analysis if it came positive for acid-fast bacilli or elevated ADA level means ATT is started.
In case of malignancy also pleural effusion will accurate it may be hemorrhagic mostly. So maybe to rule out they advised malignancy or tuberculosis they advised FNAC.
