General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, accidental exposure to bleach for a very short period of time during 3rd trimester of pregnancy does not pose any major threat to fetus due to following reasons. There is placental barrier which would prevent noxious gas substances from passing through maternal side to placental circulation. Immune system of the mother itself will filter out the noxious particles from the mother blood circulation immediately and coughing is the response through that only.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
