General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Gynaecosid contains Methyloestrenolone and Methyloestradiol. It is used for the treatment of non-occurrence of menstrual periods in certain cases (secondary amenorrhea).
This drug will not be effective in causing abortions. So it is not used to terminate pregnancy. It is not an emergency contraceptive pill.
Since you have taken double the dose, you may experience certain side effects like headache, nausea, abdominal pain, weight gain, water retention in your tissues and breast tenderness. Kindly wait for your periods to come.
After taking emergency contraceptive pills once for unprotected intercourse, you need to use other forms of protection like condoms and spermicidal agents in case you have intercourse before you get the bleeding.
If it gets delayed beyond 3 weeks, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
