Is Intake Of Norflox Tablets During Pregnancy Advisable For Treating Urinary Infection?

I m in the 5th month of pregnancy and my urine culture shows there s some urinary infection.My doctor has prescribed Norflox 400 for a week.But i don t have any symptoms at all and I m unsure whether I need to take the tablets.I read up on Norflox and it says it s not considered safe during pregnancy. Please let me know what I should do.I am concerned it will affect my baby.

During Pregnancy norfloxacin is recommended only when benefit outweighs risk. As safer alternatives are available norfloxacin is contraindicated.

Norfloxacin is especially contraindicated during 1st trimester of Pregnancy .

Norfloxacin can cause abortions and birth defects
