Is Intake Of Potassium Dangerous For A Type 2 Diabetic Patient?

My significant other is 71 with type 2 diabetes. He was told that potassium is dangerous for him. He should not eat avocados, sweet potatoes, spinach, yogurt, bananas, white beans all foods we have been eating. What is the danger for him? My email YYYY@YYYY Thank you!

Potassium up to some level but if it increases it can cause arrhythmia or change in heart rhythm which can be fetal
