Is Integrated Medicine Advisable For Chronic Depression?
Hi I would like to know if integrated medicine is a good way to start looking for a new treatment for chronic depression? I have been suffering depression mostof my life. I am sixty six years old. I am now on meds and . Counseling. I am at a stand still and need a change in my treatment. Can u help?
Hi, What is your score on geriatric depression score? If it’s chronic then you have gone for all kinds of meds like SSRI, SNRI, psycho combination, usually 2-6 weeks at therapeutic dose level are needed to observe clinical response. Number of days transdermal patches are available, you can opt for those and CBT therapy is option with integrated herbal meds also combined St. John worts and acupuncture etc., can work too.
Recently, Harvard university done research on breathing exercises with yoga can prevent relapse up to 70% more than meds without side effects you can combine all these as these don’t have side effects also.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
