Is Intimacy Safe 8 Weeks After Surgery For Inguinal Hernia?

Dear Doctor, I am male 33 , I ve undergone my left inguinal hernia open surgery(hernioplasty). It s been 8 weeks ( 56 days) that I was operated. I have couple of questions if you could please help me out 1) sleeping posture on my back not changing positions since I was operated can I change my sleeping positions not even bending up and down? 2) pain & discomfort occasionally around incision and black mark near by surgical wound , should I be concerned about it? 3) Can I participate in sexual intercourse since I was operated I ve been masturbating does it cause problem? 4) Can I run or walk by stairs? Hi Sajid,
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Generally, following surgical operations like the one you have undergone, you can resume all your routine activities by 3 months.
Sleeping in the usual posture should be fine by now. Take care not to strain your abdomen muscles and any activity that would increase the abdominal pressure.
You can resume your physical activities like walking and climbing stairs gradually.
You can resume your sexual activities gradually after 3 months.
