Is Irregular Menstrual Cycle After A Partial Thyroidectomy A Cause For Concern?

I had a partial thyroidectomy early April 2018 and my menstrual cycle went to a reliable 28 days to about 5 weeks between menstruation. When I do get my period, it s completely normal. I m 35. I m not on any medication. Is this something that will regulate itself or should I be concerned?

Hi,

You need to get your TSH.FT3. FT4. D9ne to know the thyroid function. If abnormal it can alter your cycles.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
