Is It Advisable To Give Steroids To An Infant For Nasal Congestion?
hello doctor my male childis 44 days old .he got nasal congestion,that is mucous forming.but no cold ,cough,running nose.doctor told its nothing to worry its common for babies and advised me to give nasoclear .and he gotsevere sound during breast feeding.so i showed him again to another doctor.he pumped the nosea nd took too many mucous.he gave betnesol oral drops, ferpod antibiotics and timinic drops.i heared that betnesol is steroid.even his chest and lungs is clear .is it advisable to gives teroid for 44 day baby
Hi Welcome to healthcaremagic I would not give steroid for such a problem in 44 days old baby.I would give oral antibiotic for such persistent cold with thick secretions and stop all other medicines.In addition I will advise nasoclear to clear nostril Happy to help you Best regards
