Is It Advisable To Take Clarithromycin And Paracetamol To Cure Sore Throat Caused By Tonsillitis?
I was diagnosed with tonsilitis today after having a seriously painful sore throat for a week where I havent been able to eat and barely been able to drink. I was prescribed antibiotics which are 500mg clarithromycin and took 2 today. I was also prescribed paracetamol. The symptoms havent improved though. They have got worse as I have literally just vomited up blood. It doesn't taste like blood though. Is this still tonsilitis?
Vomiting of blood like discharge is not common in tonsillitis. You need some other investigations based on physical exam to rule out certain other conditions like gastroesophageal reflux etc.
