Is It Advisable To Take Medications For Slightly Elevated Heart Rate?

I have a heart rate anywhere from 111 to 117 beats per minute and have had this for over fifteen years now and never once had a heart attack. My doctor prescribed pills to prevent my heart from racing but everytime I take even one pill it causes me tremendous headache and tight chest. I don't even have anything wrong with my heart should I even be taking meds for a slightly fast heart rate when I had it for so long and do not have heart problems?
