Is It Advisable To Take Viral Load Test To Confirm HIV Results?

Hi Doctor, i have tested non reactive to the HIV Ab test. But i am aware that i might be in a window period. Can I use the viral load test to have more accurate results without waiting for the window period? I do not want to infect my wife in case I have HIV and I am in the window period. Thank you.

Hi if your HIV antibody test is negative , you can confirm your HIC status by doing a p24 antigen test for HIV. Even if you are in Window period this test will be reactive / positive if you are infected with HIV .
