Is It Alright For A Fib Patient To Have Ricola Or Chloraseptic Lozenges While On Digoxin And Flecainide?
Hi. My husband was recently dx'd with a fib, and now he has a cold. He is on Digoxin and Flecainide. His cardiologist said he could take Dayquil or Nyquil, but really at this point all he wants to take is something for sore throat and cough. Can he safely use Ricola or Chloraseptic lozenges?
I guess your concern is about digoxin which is a very nasty drugs and even a minute change in the blood level can cause its toxicity. But the drugs you told me are herbal medications and theorticaly there is an interaction between digoxin and these herbal medicine but with very high dose.. So your husband can use these medications with digoxin with caution.
Hope this is answer to your question.
