Is It Alright To Get Gastric By Pass Done While Having Mild Crohn S Disease?
I had the Gastric Band on January 6th, 2015. To date - nothing is happening. The surgeon told me that due to a MILD case of crones disease that he would not perform the Gastric By-Pass, but that other doctors would perform the surgery. How does a person go about getting a different surgeon? I live in Edmonton, AB - any advise on what/how to go about getting a more positive surgeon would be very much appreciated. Thanks - Keena

I can only support your surgeons opinion. To be hesitant to do such a surgery on a Crohn’s patient is a sign that this doctor is careful and wants to protect you.
