Is It Blood Pooling Having Shin And Ankle Turning Black And Blue That Occurred Due To Tripping On A Tree Root?
Last Saturday I tripped over a tree root and landed on a tree root injuring my upper shin..It immediately turned black and blue. I put ice on it and was able to continue my trail run..now, my ankle is turning black and blue...no swelling, no pain...is it blood pooling?
Based on the description, I feel that the hematoma (blood clot) that has resulted due to injury to the shin of tibia might have tracked down into the ankle due to the effect of gravity causing you the typical appearence.
Generally it will resorb spontaneously within a week or two. If you are worried and concerned, approach your treating doctor and follow his advice.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
