Is it common to have a false negative from a stool sample? I recently went to a farm in the Philippines and drank some suspected bad water there. I then developed lower right abdominal pain (in the middle between ribcage and hips) also appendicitis has been ruled out. My doctor prescribed flagyl 3x daily, but when I did the stool sample before the prescription everything came up negative.
