Is It Correct To Take Cetapin For Thyroid, Irregular Periods, Weight Reduction?
i m 32 year old having thyriod , irregular periods , weight increase till 71 my dr mr pradeep gadge suggested me thyromorm 150 n cetapin xr 500 so i hv doubt abt cetapin xr 500 that it is for diabetic then how can he suggest this tab to me my tsh 104
Cetapin is Metformin, which is a wonderful drug used for many purposes. Apart from Diabetes, it is also used in Poly cystic ovary syndrome. Do you have poly cystic ovary syndrome? Apart from irregular periods, do you have increased hair growth over face or chin, chest etc? Did your Doctor check your blood glucose levels?
I noted that your TSH is 104. How long have you been taking Thyronorm for ? Hypothyroidism itself can cause irregular periods and weight gain. My advice would be to stop Metformin ( cetapin) and continue Thyronorm in the empty stomach. Check your TSH after 6 weeks . You may expect your periods to become regular by 2-3 months if it is caused by Hypothyroidism. Despite having normal thyroid functions, if you still don't have regular periods, then we have to evaluate for other causes like poly cystic ovary syndrome.
