Hello and welcome to HCM, Pouch of Doughlas (POD) is a sac present between uterus and urinary bladder. This pouch fills up with fluid during infection and/or inflammation of abdominal and pelvic organs. It is also filled with fluid during ovulation. The fluid clears after the infection/ inflammation clears away. The accumulation of fluid in the POD does not affect infertility. Since, you have taken antibiotic for appendicitis, the fluid will also also clear away.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
