Is It Dangerous To Inhale Smoke From Burnt Bottles?

We unfortunately drink from bottles of water daily and instead of recycling them my husband burns them in a large (55 gallon) metal drum about 2 yards from the front door. I'm wondering if breathing in the smoke from all of the bottles (and other garbage) that are burned is bad? The smoke stays around for awhile too.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes, it is dangerous to inhale smoke from burnt bottles. On burning plastic bottle there will be some fumes containing harmful (toxic) chemicals. Your husband should avoid burning those bottles, it is harmful for him & neighboring people. he should dispose the bottles the the garbage.
However the toxic smoke may not show sudden effects. As the amount of toxic fumes is small it may not show undesirable effect immediately or even after a fairly long time. It is inhaling toxic fumes over a longer period of time in high concentrations will produce undesirable effect.

Hope this information helps
